John George Attig Dies September 29
John George Attig, who made his home with his half-brother, N.H. Attig, in West Rainier, died Saturday. The funeral was held Tuesday at the Green Mountain church, with interment by J.O. Elbon in the Green Mountain cemetery.
Rev. Heath W. Lowry of the Rainier Assembly of God church conducted the services. Mrs. Alfred S. May played and sang "Face to Face" and "Rock of Ages". Pall bearers were Alberty and Paul Stoll, N. Halverson, Peter Christianson, and Herman and John Wens.
The deceased was born near Peoria, Illinois, June 17, 1866, and was 79 years, three months and 12 days of age.
In early childhood he moved to a farm near Hubbell, Nebraska, and then to a farm near Halsey, Oregon, where he lived with his step-mother until her death. For the past seven years he had been an invalid at the N.H. Attig home. A sister, Mrs. Katherine Allen of Fairbury, Nebraska also survives.
