Married Martin Olsen December 1899.

Katrena "Stena" "Stine" was the second daughter born to Anna Marie Thompsen Petersen and Jacob Jacobsen. She had two biological sisters (Cecilia and Petraye) and one step-sister, Christen Petersen, and one step-brother, Peter Petersen (children of Anna and Soren Petersen). After Mr. Jacobsen died, Peter Petersen, being the oldest and a son, became the “man” of the family. To avoid confusion, the entire family used the name of Petersen, though the legal surname of Katrena, Cecilia and Petraye remained Jacobsen.

Cecilia, Stena and Petraye came with their mother, Anna, to America in 1884. They went to Whiting, Kansas to be with Christen and her husband, J. F. Jensen, and two daughters Anna and Mary. Stine was 6 years old when she came to America.

In 1892, “The J. P. Jensen family moved to a farm 3 miles east and 2 miles north of Hardy … and this is the way Stine (age 14) came to the Hardy-Ruskin area. When Stine was 18 and Petraye was 15, they went to Denver and worked for a while. They got homesick and came back home, probably around 1896. In March of 1896, their older sister, Celia (Cecilia) Jacobsen Olsen, who had been married to Martin Olsen for aprox. 2 years, died. It is probable that her death is what brought the sisters back to the Ruskin-Hardy, Nebraska area. In December of 1899, Stine (Katrena, Stena) Jacobsen, married Celia’s former husband, Martin Olsen. Also in 1899, Petraye Jacobsen married Anton Jensby of Ruskin, Nebraska.

Three children were born to Stine and Martin Olsen: Ezra (October 1900), Mary (February 1902) and Martena "Tena" Olsen (July 1904).

When Martena was 10 months of age, Mary was age 3, and Ezra was age 5, Stine died on May 26, 1905, and is buried in the Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin, Nebraska.

Martin's sister, Oline Olsen Wagensen, took in Martin's family and raised the girls and occasionally had Ezra. Mary kept the surname Olsen. Martena was adopted by Oline and Jens Wagensen, so carried the surname of Wagensen.

Martin moved to Atlantic, Iowa and married Cecilie Andersen (aprox 1914). She had a daughter, Agnes Jensen from her former marriage and they had a daughter, Esther Olsen (1915).
