Eunice "Aunt Eunie" was born to Columbus Theodore Buchanan and Mary Jane (Lawson). She married Nathan Hicks and they had five children: Nathan Andrew Jr., David Columbus, Freed Hardeman, Paul Mark, and Margaret Irene. She was a member of the Northside Church of Christ where her brother, Samuel Paul Buchanan, was the minister. Following the death of Nathan she lived with Myrtle Jane Buchanan in North Chattanooga until her death. She was loved by all.
