Mrs. Amelia Givens

Providence, Ky., April 14, -- (Special) -- Last rites
were held this afternoon at The First Baptist church for
Mrs. Amelia Sugg Givens, 82. Burial was in Big Hill cemetery.

She died yesterday of a paralytic stroke suffered a week ago. She was the only daughter of John W. Givens, prominent pioneer landowner and tobacconist. Her mother formerly was Miss Judith Wier.

Mrs Givens was married first to T. O. Sugg of Union. Three children by this union survive. They are Mrs. Hugh L. White, wife of Gov. White of Mississippi; J. C. Sugg and J. W. Sugg of Providence.

Two brothers, Ross Givens of San Antonio, Tex., and Stuart Givens of Muskogee, Okla., also survive.

She married Henry Givens, a Pprovidence banker on May 26, 1908 in McComb, Mississippi at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hugh L. White. Mr Givens died in 1924

Mrs.White's Mother Dies In Kentucky

Mrs.Henry Givens,82,mother of Mrs.Hugh White ,wife of the governor of Mississippi,died Tuesday afternoon at her home in Providence,Ky.

Mrs.White was en route from Jackson to her mother's bedside. Governor White was notified by telephone Tuesday afternoon.
