LUCY VANPELT
Lucy Chenoweth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Chenoweth, was born on April 12, 1861, and passed from this life at her home in Ashley, Ind., on March 18, 1941, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 6 days.
She was married to Samuel VanPelt on February 1, 1879. Four children were born to this union, three daughters and one son. The husband and two daughters preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Ashley Methodist church and was a faithful attendant at the worship services until hindered by ill health.
Surviving are the son, William McKinley VanPelt; one daughter, Mrs. Edna Oberlin of Angola; several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Ashley on Friday, March 2, with Rev. H. J. Shady officiating. Burial was at Circle Hill cemetery at Hudson.
