Funeral services for William B. Valentine were held at 2 p.m. February 10, 1947 at the Primitive Baptist Church, with interment in the Primitive cemetery under the direction of Hixson's.

Mr. Valentine died, Feb. 9, 1947 at 4:30 p.m. at the Baptist Hospital, at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Narcisus Valentine, Dry Prong, La.; four sons, Willis A., and Albert of Stevens, Ark., O. R. Valentine, Dry Prong, and Bennie Va[l]entine, of Summerfield, La.; four daughters, Mrs. Metta Clounch [sic Claunch], Honeyville, La., Mrs. Gladys Johnson, Winnsboro, Mrs. Lola Bell Reeves, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Annie Evens, Jamestown, La.; two brothers, George Valentine of New Orleans, and Richard Valentine, of Grayson, La.

Gravesite Details

Mr. Valentine's WWI draft registration card gives his DOB as 30 Sept 1875, which agrees with 1920 and later census records and his obituary, which gives his age at death as 71 years. The 1900 census gave it as Sept. 1874.
