THE WENATCHEE DAILY WORLD MONDAY AUG 1. 1910
WM. J. M'MULLIN
DIED FRIDAY
PIONEER OF THIS VALLEY PASSED AWAY NEAR EPHRATA.
BURIED TODAY.
One who has had a large hand in making the Wenatchee Valley, a producer of wealth has passed to the great beyond. Wm. J. McMullin died of paralysis at his homestead nine miles south of Ephrata last Friday evening. He was found lying helpless on the lawn Wednesday and grew steadily weaker.
The funeral was held this afternoon at the Methodist church and was in charge of W. H. Hamilton & Son. Rev Beightol officiated and was assisted by Rev. Clulow. The A.O.U.W. furnished pall bearers and otherwise assisted in the services.
The deceased left to mourn him a wife, four sons, anf three daughters. It was his ambition to leave to each of his children an improved ranch. The big ranch on Birch Flat across the Wenatchee River was divided among all except the youngest son who is not yet of age. To provide for him the father took a homestead south of Ephrata and installed a fine pumping plant. It is said to be one of the model ranches of that newly developed section.
Mr McMullin would have been 50 years of age next September. He was a resident of this valley for more than ten years and has taken a live interest in the development of the valley.
