He served with the 4th AR, Co. A, during the Civil War. He was married first to Nancy J. Darby. He married second Nancy J. Howard in Van Zandt County on 05 May 1874. She was born 15 Jun 1842, died 12 Mar 1886. He married third Texanna Atchison on 01 Mar 1888 in Van Zandt County. He died 21 Oct 1899 and was buried between his first two wives Nancy Darby and Nancy Williams.
