VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.-Mrs. Lois Hollingsworth Barbour, 48, principal of Willoughby T. Cooke Elementary School, and formerly of Columbia, S.C., died Tuesday in a local hospital.
She was born in Tallahassee, Fla., a daughter of the late James H. and Annie Hall Hollingsworth. Mrs. Barbour was a graduate of Wake Forest University and Old Dominion University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Woman's Board of Wake Forest University, Civil Defense and Safety Chairman of the Virginia Tech Council of PTA's, pre-school chairman of the Tidewater District Executive Committee of the Virginia Conference of PTA's, a member of the American Association of University Women and a member of the Blacknal[Blacknall] Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Wesley Elmer Barbour of Virginia Beach; two sons, Wesley E. and William Buckley Barbour of Virginia Beach; a sister, Mrs. Blake Price Sr. of Selma, N.C.; and a brother, M. Sgt. Edward Hollingsworth, USAF, Eglin AFB, Fla.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Maestas Funeral Home with burial in Princess Anne Memorial Park.
