Major League Baseball Player. He played Major League Baseball as a 1st Baseman for eleven seasons (1934 to 1941, 1943, 1946, 1948) for the Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants and the Boston Braves. He was a member of the Giants National League Pennant winning teams of 1936 and 1937. His career was interrupted by his service in the United States Navy during World War II. When he retired he had career totals of 432 Hits, 25 Home Runs, 209 RBIs and a .277 Batting Average.
