Death of John Chrisman

Death threw its grim shadow into the home of the Chrisman family on Sunday morning and changed the day of peace and rest into one of mourning. The venerable father was called, after several months sickness, from the scenes of nearly four-score years of life and entered into his last long rest. For several days past the end had been looked for and on Sunday morning about 3 o'clock John Chrisman quietly sank to rest.

Decedent was born in 1822 in Rockingham county, Virginia, and after living there for a number of years went to the state of Missouri, and in 1864 came to the state of Montana, left for the east again in 1868, and returned to this state in 1883, where he has resided ever since. He was deputy county treasurer in 1888, serving in the same capacity in 1890, and treasurer himself from 1892 to 1894. He leaves behind him to mourn his loss a widow and five children; two sons, Paul and Joseph Chrisman, and three girls, Misses Belle, the librarian of the public library, Bettie and Sallie.
