Jean A. (Weishaar) Harvey, 88, rural Peru, passed away at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield.
She was born Aug. 16, 1921 in Miami County to Frank and Alice (Davis) Weishaar. Jean married John W. Harvey in Miami County on Nov. 16, 1941; he preceded her in death Aug. 19, 2006.
During World War II, she worked for General Tire in Wabash. She was a homemaker and a member of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed quilting, handwork and cooking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Ann (Ed) Oliphant, Gloucester, Va., and Kristine (Mike) Reardon, Greenfield: three grandchildren, Beth (Brian) Runkle, Park City, Utah, Ryan (Kelly) Reardon, Normal, Ill., and Brett Reardon, Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren, Brooke and Blake Runkle, Park City, Utah, Ashlin, Brenden and Caeden Reardon, Normal, Ill.; and her twin sister, Jane Kindig, Shelby Township, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shawn Reardon, who died in 1987; her brother, Charles Weishaar; and her sister, Blanche Blaising.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 335 S. Chippewa Road, Roann, on Wednesday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Steve Ailes officiating.
Burial will be in Paw Paw Cemetery, Miami County.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
