THE SENECA NEWS (Seneca, Kansas)- Thursday, July 16, 1891.
Luke Barnes, of Goffs, died last Friday night, aged about 36 years. Mr. Barnes was injured in a silver mine in Colorado some five years ago and his death resulted from paralysis brought on by the result of the accident. He was, we believe, the youngest of a large family who settled in the county in early times. He was married only a few weeks ago to a young lady in Seneca, who survives him. His funeral was largely attended.
