Mary Helen Wade, 83, of Columbia died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1993, in Columbia. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wade was born Jan. 23, 1910, to Robert Gibbs and Nellie Jordon Gibbs. On Oct. 22, 1935, in Boonville, she married Joel Wade, and he preceded her in death.

She worked as a registered nurse for many years and was a member of Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of the Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen Wade of Columbia; two brothers, Dudley Gibbs of Ogden, Utah, and Herbert Nichols of Boonville; and four sisters, Eleanor Gibbs and Dorothy Rule both of Columbia, Lila Johnson of Clifton, Texas, and Katherine Burgess of Los Angeles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. Memorials are suggested to the Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church, 702 Wilkes Blvd., or to the American Cancer Society, 36 N. Ninth St.
