Henry A. Bader, 93, of Canton, died Friday, May 11, in Blessing hospital in Quincy, where he had been a patient since Sunday. Mr. Bader was born July 8, 1885, near Canton, a son of J. J. and Matilda Tuley Bader. He married Bessie Collins Feb. 4, 1913, in St. Patrick. She died Dec. 8, 1969. They lived near Canton until 1923 when they moved to Keokuk, where he was employed by Hubinger Co. for 23 years. He retired in 1947 and they moved back to Lewis County. He farmed in Lewis County for several years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Canton. Surviving are a daughter, Miss Leta Bell Bader of Canton; a granddaughter; a great grandson; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a daughter; a son; a brother; two sisters; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ann Little, who was raised in the home. Funeral services were held Sunday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Kaimann. Miss LaGina Bevans provided the music. Pall bearers were Hilburn Bader, Dave Bader Sr., Hugh White, Ersel Spicknall, Roger Walker and Bill Bash. Burial was in Forest Grove cemetery.
