Roy Lee "Buck" Medders, 87, passed away Saturday November 13, 2004 in McAlester, Oklahoma.
He was born on November 1, 1917 in Falfa, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Gertrude {Piatt} Medders.
He served in World War II, was a member of the Falfa Baptist Church, and he was a concrete contractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Gertrude {Piatt} Medders; two daughters, Cynthia Sue Rogers and Yvonna Marie Medders; three brothers, Bob, Bill, and Jim Medders; four sisters, Mae Sisk, Millie Bell, Maudie Hoffman, and Dolly Sisk.
Survivors include, his son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Louise Medders of McAlester, Oklahoma; one daughter and son-in-law, Evonna Lou and Alton Young of Mangum, Oklahoma; one son-in-law, Vic Rogers of Talihina, Oklahoma; mother of his children, Alta Marie Medders of Mangum, Oklahoma; one sister, Opal Cooley of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Lavone Medders and Vera Grace Medders, both of Talihina, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 16 at the Victory Baptist Church, with the Carrol Fitzgerald officiating.
Burial will follow in the Old Talihina Cemetery, under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Medders, Jon Medders, Marshall Rogers, Bucky Young, Floyd Young, and Devon Abeyta. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
