In the 1850 and 1870 censuses, Thomas is listed with his parents William and Ann.
His age is younger than his actual age - maybe because his wife is so young. After the Civil War, young women were marrying older men because those their age had been killed off. I can't find him in the 1860 census, so I don't know if he was skipped or indexed incorrectly.
