MARY BUCHINA IS SUMMONED
Rites To Be Held Thursday; Three Members Of Family Die Within Four Months.

For the third time within four months, death has visited the Buchina home at 307 S. Illinois St., claiming two sons, John and Joseph, and their mother. The latter died this morning at 1:10 o'clock, just two days following the passing of Joseph, who was laid to rest this morning at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Buchina had been ill with pneumonia the past week, but in failing health for some time.

Funeral services are to be conducted Thursday morning at 10 o'clock in the family home, Rev. Popoff, Greek Orthodox pastor of Joliet, officiating. Interment will be made in the Russian Orthodox cemetery. The body will be removed to the home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, and friends may call there until the hour of the service.

The decedent, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Matczo, was born in Maly Lipnik, Austria, more than 80 years ago. She grew to young womanhood there, and was married to John Buchina, who preceded her in death in 1918. The family came to the United States half a century ago, settling in Texas, where they resided for five years before moving to Streator. The family had since lived in this city. Mrs. Buchina was a member of the Greek Orthodox church, the National Slavonic Society and the Russian Orthodox Catholic Mutual Aid society.

Mrs. Buchina is survived by only one daughter, Mary, who made her home with her brother and mother. Two other sons, in addition to Joseph, preceded their mother in death--John, on May 16, 1942, and Michael, on May 24, 1931.
