Gary Adolph

WORDEN - Our wonderful son, brother and uncle, Gary Adolph, died suddenly on Dec. 28, 2008. Gary was a gentle and loving man who would do anything for his family. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

Gary was born April 20, 1956, to George and Louise (Wittman) Adolph in Billings. Gary grew up in Worden and attended Huntley Project schools, graduating in 1974. He was active in FFA and was, forever, a farmer at heart. He loved the land and devoted his time and energy to raising a small herd of cows with his best friend, his father George. Together, they spent many hours in the pickup making big plans for their herd. It was a special time for both of them. Gary surprised himself by comfortably slipping into the role of uncle in 1998. He loved watching his niece, McKenna, and nephews, Alex and Ryan, excel in their different activities. While never being one to dote, he would proudly smile and nod at their accomplishments. We will miss his smiling face.

Gary spent his life doing what he loved. He was raised on the family farm and worked for Propp Livestock in Worden and, most recently, spent the last 17 years maintaining the machinery of Pryor Creek Golf Course. He was an accomplished mechanic and took pride in keeping everything running smoothly. The only thing he loved to work on more was his International Harvester tractors on his own land.

Gary is survived by his parents, George and Louise Adolph of Worden; sisters Dorita and Lauretta Adolph of Billings; brother Travis (Margo) Adolph of Billings; and his niece, McKenna, and nephews, Alex and Ryan of Billings. Gary is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Katie Wittman; and paternal grandparents, Henry and Bertha Adolph.

Smith Funeral Chapel is entrusted with funeral arrangements. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Valley Baptist Church in Huntley, with lunch to follow directly after services at the church. Interment will take place at Huntley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntley Project School or Worden Fire Department.

Gary, we will love you and miss you every day of our lives. Until we meet again ….
