An illness of several years ended in death Friday morning for Mrs. Annie B. Fleming, 81. She died at the home at 229 North Wood Street where she had lived for about 45 years.
Mrs. Fleming was the widow of Paul J. Fleming, who died here Oct. 9, 1826. He operated the Fleming Cafe at 183 North College Avenue for several years before his death.
Mrs. Fleming was born near Statesville, N. C., Oct. 31, 1875, and married Mr. Fleming at Lincolntoon, N. C., May 23, 1897. They came here in 1905.
Her four children are Mrs. Howard Glasgow of the Wood Street home, Mrs. E. W. Carlton of Rolla, Mo., Paul Glenn Fleming of Placerville, Calif., and Mrs. Dwayne Todd of Washington, D. C. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Charles Dellinger of Statesville, N. C., and Mrs. James A. Torrence of Fort Collins.
There are seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a niece, Edith Torrence of Fort Collins, and a nephew, James Torrence of Milwaukee.
Mrs. Fleming was a member of the First Methodist Church.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Rufus C. Baker at the Blythe-Goodrich mortuary at 2 p.m. Monday, with burial to follow at Grandview cemetery.
