RITES SET FOR MRS. PITTS, 84
Sandusky Woman Ill Several Months
Funeral services for Mrs. Martha E. Pitts, 84, wife of William A. Pitts of Sandusky, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Vanest, pastor of the Sandusky Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home anytime.
In declining health several months and seriously ill the past few days, she died at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 4, 1884 in Fleming County, Ky., the daughter of James T. and Amanda (Fightmaster) Marshall. She was united in marriage with William A. Pitts on December 10, 1905 in Fleming County, Ky.
The couple had lived the past 45 years in the Sandusky community where Mrs. Pitts was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving with the husband are two sons, Orville Pitts of Sandusky and Robert E. Pitts of R.R.1 Manilla; two daughters, Mrs. Lenna Foster and Mrs. Marlin P. (Lorena) Maddux, both of Greensburg; two brothers, Rufus Marshall of Greensburg and Oscar Marshall of Covington, Ky.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
[She was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.]
