He had owned / operated Barton Trucking at Idalou since 1976. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Idalou Lions Club.
Survived by his wife; two sons - Ronnie Barton of Baytown and Steve Barton of VanAlstyne; three daughters - Debra Marion of Baytown, Dana Womack and Judy Barton, both of Wichita Falls; two sisters - Lena Myers of Olney and Marie Stuard of Waxahachie; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
