Marjorie "Marie" Stuard, 94, passed away September 13, 2016, quietly at her home in Waxahachie, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie with the burial to follow in Waxahachie City Cemetery.

Marjorie was born in Jean, Texas, to the late Joe and Ada Belle Barton. In 1940, she married Marion Stuard in Weatherford, Texas. Marie was a long time resident of Waxahachie. She worked 20 years at W. C. Tennery Community Hospital as a nurse and was a longtime member of Farley Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Marion Stuard; sisters, Lena Myers and Belva Joe Barton; and brothers, Tom Barton, and Frank Barton who was killed in Korea.

Survivors include her son, Joe Stuard and wife, Judy; daughter, Betty Payne and husband, Bobby, all of Waxahachie; grandchildren: Sheri Marrrow, her husband, Steve, of Ennis, Jill Hammonds and her husband, Mark, of Keller, Sean Connor his wife, Stephanie, of Waxahachie, Shelly Wells her husband, Mike, of Blooming Grove, Scott Connor his wife, Amanda, of Italy, and Stephen Connor and his wife, Summer, of Waxahachie; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
