Phineas was the eldest son of 11 children of parents, Sylvanus Rodney and Emeline French Norton, Sr. of Jonesport, Maine. Phineas married Anna May Wallace, in 1870. "Annie" was the daughter of Samuel and Lucy Ann Alley Wallace of Jonesport. Together Phineas and Annie had 11 children, 3 girls and 8 boys. In the 1870 Census, Phineas is listed as a Seaman, 1880 - fisherman, 1900 - surf fisherman, 1910 - fishing, 1920 - fisherman, 1930 - no occupation. Phineas Manwarren Norton, II died in 1933, in Jonesport at 88 years of age. He rests in Greenwood Cemetery.
