4/29/10 I spoke to the clerk at the cemetery and they don't have him listed at the cemetery, but the clerk said that in those days a baby was usually buried with a relative. Now I just have to track down what other relative was there and connect them. I will also be visiting the cemetery to see if I can find something.

Dear Ms. Hawkins,

Thank you for contacting the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston archive.

We do have baptismal records from Saint Mary’s Infant Asylum, and I was able to find the record for Benedict Lavash in a volume spanning 1911 to 1924. On page 91, it reads that Benedict, son of Eva Lavash, was born on 17 March 1914, and baptized on 21 March 1914 by Father John A. Sadler, SJ. The sponsor Imogine Fairservice; I find that the sponsors at these baptisms were often a nurse or other staff member as the names will appear with some frequency.
Regretfully, probably because of the nature of the institution as a safe place for unwed mothers, further information was not recorded in the register as it would be in a regular parish.
I hope this information proves useful. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance.
