Elmore abt 1882 in Carterville, Jasper Co., Missouri? They lived in Nashville, Missouri, just 21 miles North of Joplin, Missouri where both Charles "Charlie" Edward Elmore (1883) and Gladdys Vera Elmore (1886) were born. In the Spring of 1890, C. W. moved the family to Ingalls, Payne Co., Oklahoma. His father died November 30, 1889 and he moved to care for his mother. The James Elmore family had lived in Arkansas City, Kansas for 3 or 4 years ( 1885 - 1889 ) waiting for the land run of April 1889. They moved to Orchard, Fort Bend Co., Texas in the Spring of 1893, from "back on the Oregon Trail" together with much of the Holaday family. Her brother-in-law, Henry Hartford Aylor, was a railroad agent and helped established the town of Orchard with lands owned by the railroad. Alice Reida Elmore was born in Somerville, Burleson Co., Texas in 1906 and later the family moved to Rosenberg, Ft. Bend Co., Texas. She was a hard worker: cooking, cleaning, and helping to run the Plaza Hotel. She had four children: Charles Edward Elmore, Sr. (1883), Gladdys Vera Elmore Hunter (1886), Janes "Jimmy" Franklin Elmore, Sr. (1898), and Alice Reida Elmore Roesler (1906).
