J V Boring, 74, Dies Here
James Virgil Boring, 74, a retired Houston merchant, and a lifelong Chickasaw County resident, who died at 1 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the home of his sister, Mrs. B H Baine, was laid to rest last Thursday.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm, from the Houston Funeral Home with the Rev. Malcolm Jones and the Rev. John Bowie officiating. Interment was in the Houston Cemetery.
Mr. Boring was born April 28 1887. He was the son of the late William Fletcher Boring and Nancy Jane Pumphrey Boring. He was a member of the Houston First Baptist Church.
He is survived by two sons, James V Boring, Jr., of Hattiesburg, and William Cecil Boring of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. H S Austin, and Mrs. B H Baine, both of Houston and Mrs. R H Flowers of Greenwood, and a brother, T C Boring of Greenwood.
