Survivors include one son, Charles W. Gates of Iran; seven daugthters, Mrs. Marie Ammons of Sawyer, Okla., Mrs. Odell Raines of Keithville; Mrs. Clarice Bright of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Betty Pyles of Shreveport, Mrs. Mary Nell Hemphill of Winnfield, Mrs. Estell Morphy of Germany and Mrs. Emogene Beam of Mead, Neb.; two brothers, S. N. Vines of Dodson and Newton Vines of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Bidell [sic Videll] Robinson of Jonesboro and Mrs. Christine Wheat of Columbia; 25 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Southern with Rev. Jack Head officiating. Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery, Sikes.
