Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield, with Masonic graveside rites.
He was a Winn Parish native and member of Friendship Baptist Church and Eastern Star Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nola Vines of Winnfield; four sons, Ernest Vines of Joyce, James Vines and Virgil Vines, both of Winnfield, and Eugene Vines of Pearl River; a brother, Neal Vines of Dodson; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Wheat of Columbia and Mrs. Videll Robinson of Jonesboro; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mr. Vines' grandsons.
