--Mrs. Nash, wife of Noah Nash of Walnut township died last Monday night at about midnight. The deceased had been sick for some time and her daughter was waiting on her giving medicine and care. The doctor had again been called on Sunday and she seemed to rally very much. But at midnight when her daughter went to her to administer medicine she found her mother cold in death. Mr. Nash was called by his daughter and found her to be correct, the mother had died seemingly without a struggle. Mr. and Mrs. Nash have lived for many years in Walnut township[,] are loved and esteemed by all their neighbors, raised a family of four or five children, all save the daughter is married and doing for themselves. Mrs. Nash was a kind and loving mother and a devoted wife, ever ready to help those in need. Was a member of the Christian church at Walnut City and was living such a life as the Master would be pleased to have his disciples imitate. The funeral services was held [sic] yesterday at the home and the body was interred in the Walnut City Cemetery [Shaeffer Cemetery] to await the resurection [sic] morn. Eld. Jasper N. Smith of Hedrick, was sent for to conduct the funeral services. The husband and the family have the sympathy of the entire community.

Died at her home in Walnut township, Mrs. Rosanna Nash (Darrah)[.] She was born in West Virginia March 20, 1835, died April 17, 1900, age 65 years and 27 days. [sic: 62 Y 27 D on tombstone]
She came to Appanoose county with her father in 1857, was married to Noah Nash September 25, 1859, to them was born [sic] six children five of them survives, three sons and two daughters Cornelius, James, Martin, Mrs. Lilla [or Lilia] McDaniel and Dora the youngest daughter. She leaves a kind husband, five children and a number of grandchildren to mourn her departure, she was always ready to take care of the sick, help the poor, and relieve the distress, she united with the Christian church March 1860 and in all these 40 years not a charge on the records have been made against her. [sic]
Funeral services were conducted by the writer from the Christian church at Walnut City, and the large concourse of people that gathered told the high esteem in which she was held by everyone.
