Dollie Mae Dunn, 80, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at her home in Vancleave, Miss., with family and friends at her side. She was born Jan. 11, 1927, in Biloxi, Miss., and was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and friend. She and her husband lived in Houston, Texas, for approximately 45 years before returning to Mississippi in 2004.
Dollie Mae was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Dianne McMillan; her son, Jimmy McMillan; her mother and father, Mabel and Leo Noble; her sister, Helen Griffth; her brothers: James "Bud Perez" Andrews, Leo Noble, Jr. and Arthur "Man" Noble.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 49 years, Wyatt Dunn; her daughters, Reba Jo (Calvin) Martinez of Omaha, Neb., Carol (Butch) Couts of Petal, Miss., and Dianne Slatton of Houston, Texas; daughter-in-law, Carolyn McMillan of Huntsville, Texas; one sister, Linda (Jack) Cumbest of Pascagoula, Miss.; two brothers, Duncan (Rosemary) Noble of Vancleave, and Robert (Cloteel) Noble of Queen City, Texas; four sisters-in-law, Josephine Hunter, Lucedale, Miss., Martha Boutwell and Mary (Don) Davis of Moss Point, Miss., and Margaret (Tommy) Moore of Forts Lake, Miss.; one brother-in-law, Roy (Debbie) Dunn of Hartford, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, David, Ricky, Calveta, Sheray, Roy, Jason, Megan, Wyatt, Samantha and Wes; 12 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, July 20, 2007, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point, Miss.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, from the funeral home chapel in Moss Point, with Rev. Ruby Walters officiating.
Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery on Humphrey Farms Road in Vancleave, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Wes McMillan, Wyatt Slatton, Megan Slatton Bush, Rob Bush, Kelly Cumbest, Elbert Noble, Wendell Noble and Ricky Mock.
The family would like to thank the staff of Plaza Nursing Center, Dr. Degroote, the staff of Hospice of Light, and all of the family and friends for their love, prayers, visits and food provided. Also, a special thanks for the love and care provided by her dedicated aide, Frances.
