Carroll N. Brown, 97, of Old Route 15, New Columbia, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born March 26, 1919, in Milton, a son of the late Harvey J. and Minnie L. (Hein) Brown. He was married to the the former Lois Renner who preceded him in death.
Carroll attended Watsontown schools and served in the Army during World War II.
He was employed by Philco-Ford/Zenith Corp in Watsontown.
He was a member of American Legion Post 71, Milton.
Carroll enjoyed mowing the grass, working on tractors, woodworking and going out to eat.
He is survived by four sons, Robert A. (Lana) Brown, of McEwensville, Ronald L. (Sandra) Brown, of Kentucky, James L. (Donna) Brown, of Milton, and Roger J, (Lindy) Brown, of New Columbia; two daughters, Joyce A. (Jack Trump) Keefer, of Pittsburgh, and Judy L. (Craig) Kratzer, of Indiana; 13 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.
Carroll was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Thomas M. Glasoe officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
