Mary A. "Mollie" Dickey Tune was the daughter of James R. Dickey and Frances P. Hutson Dickey, natives of North Carolina. Mollie married James Elihu Tune on December 19, 1866 in Lewis County, Tennessee. They had the following children: John William L. Tune, Leora Ellen Tune, Wesley B. Tune, James Sidney Tune, Emma Lula Tune and Mary E. Tune. The family moved to Ellis County, Texas sometime after 1872, prior to 1880. Mollie is believed to have died after the birth of her last child, sometime between December 1881 and August 17, 1882, when her husband married his widowed sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Beckum Tune.

Mollie's resting place is assumed to be in Ellis county, in the area of Midlothian or Ovilla.
