Vera, the daughter of Alonzo Earl Curtis and Martha Adeline McKee, married Herbert Joseph Meyer. Vera and Herbert had the following children: Ronald Alan and Patricia JoAnn.

Vera, age 79, passed away in Portland, TX. Vera was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Alan Meyer; parents, Alonzo and Martha Curtis and sister, Lelia Moore.

The obituary lists the following survivors: her daughter, Susie Wyatt and husband Michael; grandson, Joshua B. Wyatt and wife Rachel; granddaughter, Jullian M. Wyatt; niece, Arlene Godfrey and numerous cousins.

Funeral Services were at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with son-in-law, Mr. Michael Wyatt from Church of Christ of Portland, TX and grandson, Mr. Joshua B. Wyatt from Church of Christ of Rosemark, TN officiating. Burial followed Sunset Memorial Park.

"Mickey and Dee Shelton getting a big kick out of going to the recent prison rodeo at Huntsville. Ditto Herbert and Vera Meyer, who drove down with them."
