Crystal Albrook, 81, of Sun City, died after a heart attack on Saturday, November 4, 2006 while recuperating at Boswell Hospital from spine surgery. She was a well known church organist in the West Valley having served for 15 years at Church of the Advent, Episcopal in Sun City West, capping 58 years as organist for churches of many denominations in South Dakota, Maryland, California, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut. North Carolina and Arizona. After retiring from Advent she returned to serve for a year at St. Alban's Anglican Church in Peoria, Arizona.
She began her musical career at Watertown, South Dakota High School as piano accompanist for various musical groups. She went on to study pipe organ at Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and played for several little theater, light opera and choral groups in addition to church choirs.
Crystal is survived by her husband, Robert, a retired journalist and teacher; her daughters of Indianapolis, Indiana and Charlottesville, Virginia and her son of Key West, Florida.
Private services will be held in Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Sun Health Research Institute.
