"Services for George A. Lester, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 24021 W. Royal Worlington Drive (at Route 59), Naperville.

Born Sept. 20, 1920, in Wadsworth, he died Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at Rush Copley Medical center in Aurora. Interment will be in Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien.
.
After living most of his life in the Midwest and Chicago area, Mr. Lester moved to Florida for a short time, but returned to Aurora in 1982. A 1942 graduate of North Central College in Naperville, he had worked for 37 1/2 years a a manager in the manufacuring division of Western Electric. He was also a veteran having served his country during World War II in the Army Air Corps.

Surviving are his wife, Fern L. Lester (nee Lawson) Of Aurora; son Frederick (Pat) Lester of Wheaton; daughter, Susan (Paul) Davis of Downers Grove; four stepsons; and two stepdaughters. He is also survived by his brother Clayton (Carol) Lester of Mercer, Wis.; sisters, Dorothy (Warren) Lebeck of Plainfield and Evelyn (Edward) Jenkins of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren; five great-granchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; and one great-stepgrandchild.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
