PETE BADURA, 68, OF PAPLIN PASSED AWAY
Prominent Farmer Died Suddenly Following
Heart Attack
_________
The Paplin community was saddened last Wednesday on hearing
of the death of one of its pioneer residents, Peter Badura, who passed
away that day following a heart attack. Mr. Badura had been ailing for
some time with heart trouble, but was up and around at his usual duties
each day. However, he had the attack while sitting in his chair, and died
as stated above.
Peter Badura was born in Chicago in April, 1875, and when he was nine
years of age he came to Howard County with his parents, settling in the
Northwest part of the county, which has remained his home since. He was
married to Miss Mary Betlewski at Mr. Carmel Church, Paplin on
February 8, 1889. To this union were born the following children, Anna,
Connie and Mary, Peter, John and Stanley, all at home, and Leo in the
service of his country in California, and Alois, stationed with the army in
Virginia.
Mr. Badura was a good father, husband and neighbor and assisted a
friend in need whenever he could. He succeeded in his farming operations.
He was a faithful member of the Catholic church and attended regularly.
He will be greatly missed by his family and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday from Mt. Carmel Church and
burial was made in Paplin Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
Pallbearers were Albert Gappa, Charles Schroll, Stanley Maciejewski,
Steve Jonak, Alex Badura and Frank Badura. The Rev. John Czajka of
Loup City had charge of the funeral services.
The Phonograph extends sympathy and condolences to the bereaved
family in this hour of trial.
