MERKEL, June 28.--(Spl.)--Mrs. J. N. Teaff, 75, a resident of this city since 1903, died at her home here at 4 o'clock this morning. She had not been well the past two years and had been confined to her bed the past six weeks.

Funeral will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist church with the Rev. I. L. Parrack, Chillicothe, former pastor here, officiating. He will be assisted by the Rev. Jones Weathers, her pastor, and the Rev. R. A. Walker, pastor of the Grace Presbyterian church here. Burial will follow in the Merkel cemetery.

Mrs. Teaff, the former Henrietta Jones, was born August 4, 1863, in Lockhart. She married J. N. Teaff at Oenaville in Bell county, Sept. 26, 1880. The family came to Merkel in 1903 from Troy, Texas. Mrs. Teaff was an active member of the Baptist church. Mr. Teaff died here June 16, 1933.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. W. B. Stephens and Mrs. General J. Jones, Merkel, Mrs. Earl Lassiter, Big Spring, Mrs. Mary Bearden, Dallas, and Mrs. J. W. Mayfield, Abilene; one brother, John Jones, Fort Lyons, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. John Hurst and Mrs. B. Owens, Dale, and Mrs. Alice Halbert, Throckmorton, and nine grandchildren, these including John A. Jones, Minnie Alice and Jimmie Etta Mayfield, Abilene.
