Ruth Foltz Lam, 95, of Elkton, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008, at Journeys Crossing Assisted Living in Elkton. Mrs. Lam was born June 28, 1913, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Elmer and Bertha Dovel Pence. She was a devoted member of the Elkton Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker.

On Aug. 26, 1939, she married Irvin E. Lam, who preceded her in death July 8, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Paul H. Foltz and Elmer R. Lam, both of Elkton; three brothers, Ervin Pence, Clyde Pence and Theodore Pence, all of Elkton; a sister, Louise Cunningham of Elkton; seven grandchildren, seven
great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, four great-great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Travis Hensley will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. Monday at the Elkton Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery near Elkton.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkton Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 152, Elkton, VA 22827, or the Elkton Pentecostal Church, 16714 E. Summit Ave., Elkton, VA.
