OWENSBORO MESSENGER & INQUIRER OBITUARY - 11/06/1997 – CLOVERPORT:
Harold Mattingly, 54, formerly of Hardinsburg and Cloverport, died Monday, Nov. 3, 1997, at Compcare Center in Hartsville, Tenn. He was born in Mattingly, was employed by the Herald News in Hardinsburg as a sportswriter for many years and was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church. Survivors include two brothers, Curtis Mattingly of Hardinsburg and David Mattingly of Louisville; several nephews and nieces; several uncles and aunts; and several cousins. Memorial services will be at 7 P.M. Friday at Wallace Funeral Home in Cloverport. Visitation is after 6 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to either the Jeremy Purcell Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First State Bank in Hardinsburg or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
