Obituary: Mrs. Lynn Halbert Cranor of Forrest City died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2000, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Forrest City. She was 73. Mrs. Cranor was born May 28, 1927, in Palestine, and was the daughter of James Henry Halbert[*] and Gladys Gunner[*] Halbert. She lived in St. Francis County most all of her life, was retired from the Arkansas Department of Health Area 9, and was a member of the Caldwell Baptist Church. Mrs. Cranor married Earl B. Cranor in 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by three sons, Howard Cranor of Forrest City, Halbert Cranor of Rockville, Maryland and Finley Cranor of Russellville; one daughter, Lynn Dilfer of Okinawa, Japan; three sisters, Billye Jones of Gulfport, Miss., Emily Abel of Kingsport, Tenn., and Olive Clark of Prescott, Ariz., nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Cranor will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bell Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
