Maxwell "Max" Randall Gustin
LANDER - A celebration of life for Lander native Maxwell "Max" Randall Gustin, 92, will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Mount Hope Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander. Burial of the cremated remains will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery immediately following services in the chapel.
He died March 28, 2006 at Westward Heights in Lander.
He was born on June 1, 1913 in Lander, to Edward Allison and Phoebe Mary (Abra) Gustin. He attended school at the Fremont County Vocational High School in Lander and graduated in 1932. After high school, he took care of his mother and brother and started a long career in the farming industry.
On Dec. 24, 1941, he married Wilma Jean Isaac in Riverton. He farmed and ranched around the Millcreek area just off of Plunkett Road. He was a very active, 7th-degree member of "Grange," he served on the fair board for 12 years and was on the Millcreek school board for 14 years. He had his own dance band and later joined the Hudson All String Serenades and was a 4-H leader for many years.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years; daughters, Wyola June Tait of Riverton; Nerene Cameron and her husband of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, William, Edward, Sherman, Wainwright, Percivel "Babe," and Vernon Gustin.
Memorials may be made to Little Wind Hospice or American Cancer Society, in care of Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Drive, Lander, 82520.
