They had one child; John Henry, Jr. (or the third).
They moved to Houston, Harris County, Texas where he practiced
medicine.
After his retirement in 1962, they moved back to Crockett, Texas and through themselves into the social scene.
He was honored to have the public library in Crockett, Texas named after him.

At his death he left behind a wife of 61 years, Mary Spence Wootters and a son John Henry, Jr.
He, as all other Wootters is buried with his family in Glenwood Cemetery, Crockett, Texas
