Rockport, IN - Earl N. Lauer, 76,
of Rockport, Indiana passed away on
Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the
VNA Charlier Hospice Center in
Evansville, Indiana.
Earl was born in Tell City, Indiana
on July 30, 1933 to the late Norman
J. and Marjorie (Tate) Lauer.
He served in the United States
Army in Naples, Italy and was a
member of the Rockport American
Legion Post 254. Earl was a member
of St. Bernard Catholic Church. The
Knights of Columbus Rockport
Council and the Reverend E.J. Heuke
Assembly of Tell City. He started
Lauer Floral Company in 1956 and a
mobile home park in 1964. He was
an FTD member for 50 years and
retired in 1997.
He is preceded in death by his son,
Darrel Lauer.
Earl is survived by his wife, Wanda
Lauer; Sons, Daniel Lauer and his
wife Carol of Rockport, IN; David
Lauer and his wife Rhonda of
Indianapolis, IN; Norman Lauer of
Rockport, IN; Chad Lauer of
Rockport, IN; Grandchildren,
Nathaniel, Alissia, Wayne, Jacob,
Jared, Jestin, Jenna, Katie; Sister,
Mary Alice Traphagen of Tell City,
IN; One niece and three nephews.
Services are 11 A.M. Wednesday,
March 31, 2010 at St. Bernard
Catholic Church in Rockport, IN.
with Father Eugene Schmitt
officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill
Cemetery in Rockport, IN. The
Rockport American Legion Post 254
will conduct military honors.
Visitation is from 2 P.M. until 8
P.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 and
from 8 A.M. until 10 A.M.
Wednesday at the Boultinghouse
Funeral Home in Rockport, IN. A
prayer service will be held at 6:30
P.M. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the VNA Charlie Hospice
and St. Bernard Catholic Church.
