Joy E. Ferguson, 76, of Fenton, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, at the Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown.

Private visitation and services will be held at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in Fenton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Erie Ambulance Service.

The former Joy Elaine Mickle was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Fenton, the daughter of James and Elna Jacobsen Mickle. She married Donald Ferguson on Oct. 1, 1948, in Sterling.

Joy was a former member of the PTA, was a 4-H Leader and worked the Cancer Drive. She was an election judge.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, canning fruits and vegetables, but most of all she enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her husband; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Marshall Goodson, Erie, Misty and Chuck Nixon, Clinton, Iowa; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Lorie Ferguson, Erie, Barry Ferguson, Erie and Scott and Julie Ferguson, Morrison; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Miller, Mount Carroll, Ill. She was preceded in death by brothers, Donald, Keith and Duane Mickle.
