Mrs. Jeanette Davis Shivar, 88, of Camden, widow of Irving E. Shivar, died November 18, 2011.

Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Harvey Robert Davis and Nellie Elmira Arrants Davis.

She was the co-owner of Broad Street Lunch in Camden for numerous years with Annabelle Robinson. She was a lifelong member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was a church historian, director of music for approximately 50 years, a Sunday school teacher, assisted with the elderly shut in program and was very active with the youth.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanelle S. Williams (Ronald Sr.) of Camden; son, Irving E. "Eddie" Shivar Jr. (Pat) of Camden; grandchildren, Ron Williams, Jr., Dr. Roman Williams, Robin W. Bright, Meridith W. O'Keefe, Christopher Gardner, Gregory Gardner, Michael Gardner, Michelle Stines, Audrey Shivar, Rev. Robert Shivar, Cassie Hansen and Chad Shivar; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; brothers, Glen Davis (Billie) and Rev. Frank Davis (Glenda); sister-in-law, Nell Davis; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Shivar.

She was predeceased by a son, Robert Lester Shivar, a brother, Herbert Davis, and a sister, Vera Brown.

A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at Antioch Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Shivar's memory to the A. Sam Karesh Long term Care, 1315 Roberts Street, Camden, SC 29020.
