Obituary, The State (Columbia, SC) January 20, 2007: Herbert C Davis, Camden - A memorial service for Herbert C. Davis, 75, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Adventist Development and Relief Agency International (ADRA), 12501 Columbia Pike, Silver Springs, MD 20904. Mr. Davis died Thursday, January 18, 2007. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Harvey Robert and Nellie Arrants Davis. He attended Clemson University and worked at Du Pont for 21 years before opening Davis Enterprises. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Nell V. Davis; sons and daughtersin- law, Wayne and Jackie Davis of McCormick, and Larry and Cindy Davis of McCormick; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Gary Philpott of Littleton, Colo., and Lettye and Steve Oglevie of Burley, Idaho; brothers, Glen Davis and his wife, Billie, of Camden, and Frank Davis and his wife, Glenda, of Fayetteville, N.C.; sisters, Vera Brown and her husband, Walter, of Sumter, and Janette Shiver of Camden; grandchildren, Amy and Lourie Wilson, Tony and Christen Davis, Kenneth and Leslie Davis, Michael Davis, Pamela Davis, Brodie and Mindy Philpott, Matt and Amanda Oglevie, Joshua Oglevie, Jacob Oglevie and Faith Oglevie; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Davis Wilson, Payne Davis and Carson Oglevie.
