FUNERAL WAS HELD TODAY AND IS LARGELY ATTENDED
Remains of Mrs. Virginia J. Penn Laid to Rest Beside Those of Loved Ones Who Preceded Her
The funeral of Mrs. Virginia J. Penn who died suddenly yesterday morning at her home, 617 Flores Avenue following a stroke of apoplexy received less than two hours before took place this morning at 10 o'clock, the funeral services at both the home and the grave being conducted by Rev. C.W. Cook of the Episcopal church and the funeral being largely attended.
At the home the casket rested in a veritable mound of beautiful floral tributes from friends of the family, in fact so great were the wreaths, bouquets and other floral designs that they were banked on all sides of the casket and many were held elsewhere. When the grave was filled in and the remains of a most lovable character and good Christian women were consigned to the tongueless silence of the dreamless dust the grave was mounded high with beautiful flowers, remaining as an attestation of the high esteem in which the deceased was held by those who knew her best during the thirty-eight years of her residence in Laredo.
Interment was made in the family burial ground in the city cemetery by the side of the husband and daughter who had preceeded her in the eternal home many years before.
