Born in Marblehead, he was the son of the late Herbert and Helen (Fletcher) Dodd. He attended Marblehead schools and was a lifelong resident of the town.
He enlisted in the United States military and served during World War II.
Prior to his retirement 15 years ago, he was a self-employed sheet metal worker and worked alongside his two sons. He was an avid Red Sox fan and also enjoyed working outdoors.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his two sons, Gary and Francis Dodd, both of Marblehead.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a funeral service in the Eustis "8; Cornell Funeral Home 142 Elm St. MARBLEHEAD at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20. Visiting hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Burial with military honors will follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
