Born in Marblehead, the son of the late Herbert and Helen (Fletcher) Dodd, he was employed by the B & D Sheet Metal Co. of Marblehead until his retirement in 1966.
Surviving him, in addition to his wife, are 1 son, Herbert F. Dodd, Jr. of Nashua, N.H.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Yeaton of Swampscott, Mrs. John (Patricia) Thomas of Salem, and Mrs. Michael (Helen) Jennings of Beverly; 1 stepson, Thomas Fallis of Beverly; 1 stepdaughter, Mrs. Joseph (June) Moreau of Danvers; 1 brother, Howard Dodd of Marblehead; 2 sisters, Mrs. Clifford (Vera) Billows of Lynn, Mrs. Bion (Shirley) Buffett of Marblehead, and Mrs. Margaret Abdo of Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead, followed by a Funeral Mass in Star of the Sea Church at 9 a.m.
